Where can you buy persimmon soap in France? We checked pharmacies, supermarkets and online shops in early October 2026. Here is what we found, how to choose a good bar and how to get ours delivered.

Persimmon soap in a few words

In Japan, persimmon (Diospyros kaki) tannins have been used for centuries, especially as kakishibu, a fermented juice of unripe persimmons used to dye and protect paper, fabric and fishing nets. Today these tannins are found in body soaps chosen to help wash away body odour, including the odour associated with nonenal. Pharmacies

We found no persimmon soap at Pharma GDD or at the other French online pharmacies we checked. We did not check high-street pharmacies, whose ranges vary: ask your pharmacist.

Supermarkets: Leclerc, Carrefour, Monoprix

We did not spot a persimmon soap on these retailers' websites. Leclerc searches mostly show khaki-coloured soap dispensers and dishes; our online searches for Carrefour only turned up a khaki-coloured soap dispenser; Monoprix's grocery site showed no results. Ranges vary from store to store and change over time. Tip: "kaki" is also a colour in French, so add "japonais", "tanin de kaki" or "persimmon" when searching online.

Aroma-Zone and Nature & Découvertes

Aroma-Zone has an article about the persimmon fruit, but we did not spot a persimmon soap among its products. At Nature & Découvertes, our searches mostly turned up khaki-coloured items and DIY soap kits. Ranges change, so check their site or store.

Buying online

On Amazon.fr, several persimmon soaps are offered by third-party sellers; sellers, prices and delivery times vary, and some listings do not clearly state the brand. Online shops specialising in Japanese products also offer persimmon tannin soaps shipped from Japan; check the total cost and delivery time before ordering.

How to choose a good persimmon soap

• Look for kaki extract, kaki tannin or Diospyros kaki in the ingredient list. A soap that is only khaki-coloured or persimmon-scented does not necessarily contain any.
• A full ingredient list that the seller shows or can send you before you buy.
• An identifiable seller with contact details, a returns policy and shipping costs shown before payment.
